Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging but barely known key regulators of diverse cellular processes, comprising long intervening non-coding RNAs (lincRNAs) and antisense non-coding RNAs (ancRNAs). Determining the function of individual lincRNAs still remains a challenge mainly due to difficulty in finding protein partners. Recent advances in RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) and computational methods allow for an unprecedented analysis of such transcripts.
In this project, we are developing an integrative approach to define reference catalogues lncRNAs.
Our catalogue unifies previously existing annotation sources with transcripts we assembled from stranded/unstranded RNA-Seq data collected from various species and cell lines.
